This is a Memorial Day Run so any and all attire that shows your gratitude for the Armed Services.
There is no age limit to watch or join the race.
No, pets are not allowed at Thummer's Memorial Day 5K. Service animals are permitted.
The Thummer 5k will happen before the fair is officially open and will end as the fair opens. So plan on staying and enjoying the fair.
The Thummer’s Memorial Day 5K is the first-ever 5K race that takes participants directly
through the actual LA County Fair grounds before the fair officially opens to the public.
The race will take place on Monday, May 25, 2026 (Memorial Day).
What time does the race start?
The race starts at the Farm Arch inside the fairgrounds.
Participants will complete two loops through the fairgrounds, running directly through the LA
County Fair experience before opening hours.
Participant parking and entry will open at 8:00 AM.
Participants should enter through Gate 9 and park in the Blue Lot.
Parking is not included with race registration.
$22.50 if purchased online in advance
$26 if paid at the gate
Each registered participant will receive:
An official race shirt
A finisher medal
Admission to the LA County Fair after the race
Yes. Your race registration includes admission to the fair after the event.
The fair officially opens at 11:00 AM.
Will there be food, music, and drinks after the race?
Yes. A water station will be available at the start/gathering area.
Yes. Fairplex staff and security will assist with traffic breaks and course safety throughout the
route.
Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable running attire and running shoes appropriate for
a 5K event. Memorial Day-themed outfits are welcome and encouraged.
Yes. Friends and family are welcome to attend and cheer on participants. Spectator tickets are
available for purchase for those who would like to enter the fairgrounds and enjoy the event
atmosphere. Please note that complimentary fair admission is only included for registered
runners.
Yes. The event is professionally timed. Each runner bib includes a timing chip, and your official
race time will not begin until you personally cross the start line. This allows for accurate
individual timing even if runners begin a few seconds apart.
Yes, race-day registration will be available.
Participants are strongly encouraged to arrive early to allow enough time for parking, check-in,
and getting to the start line before the 9:30 AM start. However, your official race time will not
begin until you personally cross the start line.

Participant Waiver & Release of Liability
In consideration of your acceptance of this entry, I, the participant, intending to be legally bound, hereby waive and forever release any and all rights and claims for damages or injuries that I may have against the Event Director, Fairplex, County of Los Angeles, Oakview Group, and all owned or related entities, its officers, directors, employees, customers, distributers, suppliers, Collective Accion, and all of their agents assisting with the event, sponsors and their representatives, volunteers, and employees for any and all injuries to me or my personal property.
This release includes any injuries and/or damages suffered by me before, during, or after the event. I acknowledge, understand, and agree that this release is binding upon my heirs, executors, administrators, and assigns.
Assumption of Risk
I understand that running a road race is a potentially hazardous activity. I will not enter or participate unless I am medically able and properly trained.
I voluntarily assume all risks associated with participating in this event, including but not limited to:
I acknowledge that these risks are known and understood by me, and I waive any and all claims arising from them.
I agree to abide by all decisions of race officials regarding my ability to safely participate and complete the event. I certify, as a condition of my participation, that I am physically fit and sufficiently trained for this event.
Medical Authorization
In the event of illness, injury, or medical emergency during the event, I authorize the Event Director to obtain medical care on my behalf from any accredited hospital, clinic, or physician.
I understand and agree that I am fully responsible for any and all medical expenses incurred, including transportation, medications, treatment, and hospitalization.
Health & Safety Compliance
I agree to follow all applicable health and safety guidelines, including recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), as well as any state, local, or event-specific safety requirements in place at the time of the event.
Photo & Media Release
I grant permission to the event organizers and their representatives to use my name, voice, and image in photographs, video recordings, results, or other media from this event for legitimate promotional purposes without compensation.
